Burnie Shines celebrates 12 years this year. From humble beginnings in 2001 with 25 events, it has now grown to over 100 events in 2011! In 2012 Burnie Shines will run from October 1st to the 31st and this is your invitation for your event to be part of it!
Burnie Shines links together many small to medium events, to create a Burnie-made celebration each spring. It is then presented to the people of Tasmania, inviting them to visit Burnie and indulge in a feast of exhibitions, events, performances and parties.
Burnie Shines proves that something wonderful is created when many small events are collated and presented collectively, producing a multi faceted program with something for everyone. Everyone benefits! It is the working together that makes the Burnie Shines program unique.
